The Body in Flux is a performance piece that focuses on the evolution of the body over time.
In this work, the model's form changes from a fiery abstract form to glitchy pixels and finally to an abstract form.
I wanted to explore how movement can play into the visualization of the figure and how the speed and amount of movement can alter the work. To create the performance, I used the Unity Barracuda Pose Tracker to track my movements. As the person moves, the model reacts to their movement, and the audience can choose which version of the model they want to see.
Additionally, I experimented with a scene for one of the visualizations and created a sound piece in VCV Rack to serve as the background and documentation music. Ultimately, I hope that participants walk away with a greater appreciation for their bodies and their ever-changing nature.
